What sets ISI apart from the rest?

The Locksmith performs work requiring expertise in installing, maintaining and repairing different types of building locks including cylindrical, unit, mortise and rim, and reload cylinders, as well as replaces and repairs panic hardware, door closures, ADA openers, locks on desks, file cabinets, display cases, and similar containers. The Locksmith cuts new or replacement keys, picks locks for which keys have been lost or broken and makes repairs of locks as required under emergency conditions. The Locksmith also maintains an adequate and appropriate stock of locksmith supplies and equipment, monitors and reports maintenance issues needing attention to the appropriate authority, and performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Master and interpret Master keying guides; use knowledge of how locks work to interpret and preserve the integrity of an individual’s or organization’s master key syste
• Install, repair, change, and service locks and securities of all types as may be demanded by the individual or organization
• Repair or change key combinations on safe
• Construct or duplicate keys from existing ones, patterns, and code
• Create combinations for locks where there is no existing combinations or key
• Control management of the keys for entrance into corporations or organizations as desired by the organization 
• Service and repair “panic” hardware on security door
• Maintain both mechanical and electronic key card systems in organizations. This could involve troubleshooting, repairs, regular maintenance of the lock system Issue keys to members of the organization and keep records of the keys issued and returned 
• Install and fix door hardware system
• Replace or service worn out components of a door security system, including the lock, tumblers, springs, and other important parts.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools
• Manages and provide leadership to technician team on an as needed basis
• Manages several medium to large jobs concurrently and doing so within approved hours and margin tolerances
• Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager

Knowledge and Skills:

• High School Degree or equivalent is required
• Experience with any or all of the following preferred: Medeco, Schlage
• ISI will assist successful candidate with the means to acquire and maintain licenses.
• Understanding of Windows operating systems and overall IT network topology
•  Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with minimum direction
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis
• Must be detail-oriented and organized
