"I set off my alarm by accident, what can I do?!?"

Stay by your phone!

The monitoring service will call the premises and ask for your password or passcode.  This is a word or number predetermined by the subscriber to let the monitoring service know that everything is OK.  Simply give the operator your password/passcode and let them know you set the alarm off by accident, they will cancel the alarm and not dispatch the authorities.

If they do not call, and you know who your monitoring service is, please have your name, account number (if possible), password/passcode available and call the following:

"Can I test my own alarm?"

Absolutley!

Have your account number, name, password/passcode available and call:

Tell the operator you want to put yourself in "test" for an hour, set the alarm and set off the various devices (open doors, walk by motions, etc...).

Remember to write down the order in which you did this.

When done call the proper station back  and ask them to read back the order of signals they received.  If their list matches yours then you are OK!
